Suspected ECG cable thief electrocuted to death at Adoato

A young man, suspected to have attempted to steal an earthen wire (cable) at the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) Substation at Adoato in the Ashanti Region has been electrocuted to death. The deceased, believed to be in his late thirties, was with the cable and a plier when his lifeless body was found in the early hours of Saturday, April 19, 2025. Speaking with Ghana News Agency, Mr Benjamin Obeng Antwi, the Ashanti West Public Relations Officer of the ECG, said the Police had taken the body to the mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
