The Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has promoted seven officers of the Tema Regional Police Command in recognition of their exceptional performance during a recent anti-robbery operation.
The promotions, announced on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, follow the officers’ swift response to a robbery attack targeting a Mobile Money vendor at Tema Community 5. The operation led to the shooting of two suspected robbers and the recovery of a firearm, ammunition, and other critical exhibits.
The officers elevated to their next ranks are Chief Inspector Enoch Nartey Nuer, Inspector Gershon Dekpey, Inspector Prince Asante, Sergeant Lukman Mohammed (No. 45881), Sergeant Eugene Kuudouru (No. 49900), Corporal Jerome Akator (No. 54157), and Lance Corporal Jonathan Sewurah (No. 59882).

Commending their bravery, discipline, and professionalism, the IGP, together with members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), praised the officers for their commitment to duty and their role in ensuring public safety.
He urged the newly promoted officers to see their advancement as a call to greater responsibility and encouraged all personnel of the Ghana Police Service to remain dedicated and uphold the highest standards in their service to the nation.
