The Ghana Police Service has launched a manhunt for a suspect linked to the mysterious disappearance of a 27-year-old man in Oyibi, raising fresh concerns about safety and criminal activity within parts of the Greater Accra Region.
According to a statement from the Accra Regional Police Command, the suspect, identified as Wisdom Tetteh, is wanted in connection with the disappearance of Theophilus Ashitey Amarh.
Police reports indicate that on April 7, 2026, a formal complaint was lodged after Amarh failed to return home the previous day. He had reportedly left on April 6 with the intention of selling his Hyundai Elantra saloon car, after being introduced to a prospective buyer by the suspect.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Amarh was last seen at the residence of Tetteh in Saasabi, where he had been invited to meet the said buyer. However, he has not been seen or heard from since.
In a significant development, police investigators revisited the suspect’s residence on April 10, where suspected bloodstains were discovered in a room on the premises. The discovery has heightened fears of possible foul play.
The scene has since been processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team, with support from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Headquarters. Authorities also conducted an extensive search operation in collaboration with local community members and leaders, but the victim remains missing.
Further intelligence gathered by the police suggests that the suspect may have fled Ghana and crossed into neighbouring Togo. In response, the police have initiated processes through INTERPOL to facilitate his tracking and possible arrest.
The Accra Regional Police Command has assured the public that all necessary steps are being taken to apprehend the suspect and determine the full circumstances surrounding the disappearance.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information about the whereabouts of either the suspect or the missing individual to report to the nearest police station to support ongoing investigations.
The case continues to develop as security agencies intensify efforts both locally and internationally to bring the suspect to justice.
