The Ghana Police Service has arrested 29-year-old Samuel Aryeetey Kortor, who was captured in a widely circulated video discharging a firearm in the Jamestown area of Accra.
The arrest, which took place on April 9, 2025, followed an intelligence-led operation conducted by the Police. Authorities have confirmed that Samuel Aryeetey Kortor is also a wanted suspect in an ongoing murder investigation being handled by the Homicide Unit of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
A search of his residence at Gbese-Jamestown led to the discovery of a Beretta pistol with the serial number PX-195994, believed to be the weapon seen in the video.
The suspect is currently in police custody and assisting with investigations. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend other individuals linked to the incident.
The Ghana Police Service has reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and assures the public that anyone found engaging in unlawful acts will be brought to justice.
