Police Identify 4 In Kotoko-Nations Game Riot

Four people have been identified in connection with alleged inappropriate behaviour towards match officials during the Matchday 23 clash between the Asante Kotoko Sporting Club and Nations FC on Sunday. Kasoa Kakraba: Comic Actor Funny Face Arrested After Accident

Ghanaian comic actor, Funny Face, has allegedly been arrested by the kasoa police after he knocked down five pedestrians at kakraba junction. The swift intervention of the police who picked up the actor sent to the police station saved him from being lynched by the aggrieved mob. The comedian first hit the woman and her two grandchildren (boy and girl) before colliding with an oncoming motorbike with two passengers on board. Police arrest four more suspects over murder of Jirapa Dubai CEO

Four more suspects have been arrested by the Ghana Police Service in connection with the murder of the Chief Executive Officer of the Cossy Hill Hotel (Jirapa Dubai) at Jirapa in the Upper West Region. The renowned businessman Eric Johnson was found dead in a pool of blood in one of his hotel rooms on Sunday, February 11. The Upper West Regional Crime Scene Management Team was immediately deployed to the scene, leading to the arrest of one Kumbata Kwaku, who was suspected to be involved in the murder. Police Arrest One Person Over Death of 22 year old in Yorogo a Suburb of Bolga Central

The Police have arrested one person in connection with the death of a 22-year-old man at Yorogo, a suburb of Bolga Central in the Upper East Region. Preliminary Police report indicates that the suspect, Abotiyariba Aduko, stabbed the deceased, identified as Asobire Akuta during a fight yesterday 19th December 2023 about 6:30pm. The deceased victim was rushed to the hospital for medical attention but was pronounced dead on arrival by the medical authorities. Suspect Abotiyariba Aduko is currently in Police custody assisting the investigation.

Disregard calls for demonstration by any individual, groups- Police

The police have advised the public to disregard calls from individuals or groups inciting them to converge for a demonstration. The caution follows a court application filed by the Police and served on the organisers of a group calling itself Democracy Hub regarding a planned protest near the Jubilee House from Thursday, September 21 to Saturday, September 23, 2023. A statement signed by Superintendent of Police Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs Unit, Greater Accra Region, advised the public to ignore such calls for demonstrations whilst the court determined the matter. Police Restore Calm At Ofankor After Riot

The Ghana Police Service have restored calm and order at Ofankor on the Achimota-Pokuase road following a riot on Wednesday morning. The riot that resulted in the blockage of the highway by people suspected of being landguards has now been restored peacefully. The police said the riot was in relation to a land litigation issue. The police said it had since opened the road to traffic and beefed-up security in the area. Reports alleged that the landguards involved in the incident shot some people resulting in injuries. The Police said the investigation was ongoing to get the perpetrators arrested.
