Police Nab Seven Human Trafficking Crackdown,Rescue 48 in Ho

The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate and rescued forty-eight victims following two intelligence-led operations in Ho, in the Volta Region.

The arrests were carried out on 8 and 10 January 2026 at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road and Somey Junction. The suspects have been identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu and Prince Kaku.

Police investigations revealed that the victims—mostly young adults and students—were allegedly lured with false promises of travelling abroad. They were reportedly held under deceptive and coercive conditions while being made to pay monies for supposed visa processing.

Searches at the various locations led to the retrieval of official-looking receipts issued to victims after collecting money, along with assorted documents suspected to be linked to other fraudulent activities.

All seven suspects are currently in police custody assisting with ongoing investigations. Meanwhile, efforts are underway to trace the parents and relatives of the rescued victims, as well as to arrest additional suspects believed to be part of the syndicate who remain at large.

The Ghana Police Service has reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling organised criminal networks and safeguarding the public from human trafficking and related scams.
