Police Nab Seven Human Trafficking Crackdown,Rescue 48 in Ho

The Ghana Police Service has arrested seven suspected members of a human trafficking syndicate and rescued forty-eight victims following two intelligence-led operations in Ho, in the Volta Region. The arrests were carried out on 8 and 10 January 2026 at Fiave Dablah Ayekple Street, Ho CK Road and Somey Junction. The suspects have been identified as Emmanuel Asiamah, Frimpong Jerry, Paul Mensah, Bismark Perry, Vida Gefah, Ebenezer Kwabena Owusu and Prince Kaku. Police investigations revealed that the victims—mostly young adults and students—were allegedly lured with false promises of travelling abroad. Volta Region: Armed men rob Dorima Enterprise at Akatsi, escape with cash  

A group of armed men attacked Dorima Enterprise, a popular drink depot at the Monome-Bypass Junction in Akatsi, making away with an unspecified amount of cash. Volta GPRTU debunks 20 per cent lorry fare increase claims

The Volta Regional branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) has denied reports of a 20 per cent increase in lorry fares across the country and the region. The Union clarified that no official meeting was held with the Ministry of Transport and other relevant authorities to discuss what could necessitate any approval of such a hike. GWCL restores water supplies to Ho and its environs  

The Volta Regional Directorate of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), has successfully restored water supply to Ho and its environs, bringing the much-needed relief after more than a month of water shortages.    The water began flowing from household taps in parts of Ho, early on Sunday, February 9, 2025, following extensive repairs on the faulty pump at the Kpeve Headworks.   During the outage, many residents struggled to secure water.    Mr Ebenezer Wornyo, a resident of Lokoe, told the Ghana News Agency that he woke up early, filled all his storage containers, and prayed that the pump would remain unharmed.    Similarly, Mr Hope Demanya, expressed his relief, explaining that he had arranged for borehole water on the previous Saturd...
