Police Foil Robbery Attempt at Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta Stretch

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has foiled a planned robbery operation along the Antoakrom–Manso Nkwanta stretch following timely intelligence about the movements of a suspected armed robbery gang.

According to the police, intelligence indicated that a group of armed robbers had converged in a bush along the stretch and were preparing to launch an attack on unsuspecting commuters. Acting swiftly on the information, a team of officers was dispatched to the area to prevent the planned operation.

Upon reaching the location, police encountered the suspects and managed to disrupt the robbery attempt. In the course of the operation, security personnel recovered one AK47 rifle, one pump-action gun, and a vehicle believed to have been intended for use in the attack.

The police say the successful operation highlights the importance of intelligence-led policing in ensuring public safety, particularly on major roads often targeted by criminal elements.

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has assured the public of its continued commitment to protecting lives and property, while urging commuters and residents to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station.
