The Ghana Police Service, through the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), has arrested a suspect seen in a viral video physically assaulting a woman.
The suspect, identified as Christford Affadu Danful, popularly known as Ekow Black, was arrested on Thursday, 15 January 2026, following an intelligence-led operation by the Inspector-General of Police’s Special Cyber Vetting Team. The arrest comes in the wake of widespread circulation of the video on social media.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect and the victim, who previously lived together, had a history of disagreements which allegedly escalated from verbal confrontations into physical assaults.
Christford Affadu Danful is currently in lawful police custody and is expected to be arraigned before court to face charges in accordance with the law.
