The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) has held a strategic meeting to explore collaboration opportunities under the Government’s flagship Feed Ghana Programme, following an official communication from the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MoFA).
The Ministry, through the Feed Ghana Secretariat, extended its compliments to the Authority and outlined areas of partnership aimed at advancing the national agricultural transformation agenda.
Promoting Institutional Farming

As part of the Government’s flagship Feed Ghana Programme, MoFA is promoting Institutional Farming as a key strategy to:
- Enhance national food production
- Strengthen food security
- Advance Ghana’s food self-sufficiency agenda
- Create sustainable employment opportunities
The initiative encourages public institutions including tertiary institutions and state agencies to actively engage in structured farming activities to boost domestic food production and reduce reliance on food imports.
NSA’s Strategic Role
During the meeting, Management of the National Service Authority deliberated on how National Service Personnel (NSPs) can be effectively deployed to support the programme.
Key areas of discussion included:
- Integrating agricultural placements into the national service scheme
- Partnering with institutions that have arable land for cultivation
- Providing technical supervision in collaboration with MoFA
- Building agribusiness and entrepreneurial skills among Service Personnel
Management emphasized that aligning national service deployment with agricultural production will not only contribute to food security but also equip young graduates with practical skills in agribusiness and farm management.
Way Forward
The Authority is expected to work closely with the Ministry of Food and Agriculture and other relevant stakeholders to develop a comprehensive framework that aligns national service deployment with the objectives of the Feed Ghana Programme.
The engagement reflects the NSA’s continued commitment to supporting national development priorities and contributing meaningfully to Ghana’s agricultural transformation efforts.
Further updates are expected as implementation modalities are finalized and rolled out nationwide.
