National Service Authority Releases Postings for 6,867 Nurses and Midwives for 2026/27 Service Year

The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) has released postings for 6,867 eligible nurses and midwives for the 2026/27 National Service Year.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, February 25, 2026, the Authority said the postings cover candidates who successfully passed the March/April 2025 Licensure Examination (minor season) conducted by the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

According to the NSA, all eligible trained nurses and midwives are required to visit the Authority’s official website at https://gnsa.gov.gh/home and click on the portal to access their respective postings. Applicants are expected to follow the outlined procedures to complete their regional validation.

The Authority announced that the service and rotation for the 6,867 personnel will officially begin on Monday, March 2, 2026.

Regional validation is scheduled to commence on Thursday, February 26, 2026, and will end on Friday, March 13, 2026. Management has therefore urged all prospective National Service Personnel to complete the validation process within the stipulated period to avoid any complications.

The NSA further reminded the general public that under the National Service Authority Act (Act 1119), every Ghanaian citizen aged 18 years or older who has completed an accredited tertiary institution — including universities and Nursing Training Colleges — is mandated by law to undertake national service to the State.

The Authority encouraged all affected nurses and midwives to comply fully with the directives to ensure a smooth commencement of the 2026/27 service year.
