The Management of the National Service Authority (NSA) has moved to reassure stakeholders and affected personnel following concerns over the recent flagging of some service personnel within its system.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Authority explained that the flagged statuses form part of a routine technical exercise aimed at strengthening its internal audit mechanisms and sanitising the payroll system.
According to the NSA, a small percentage of records within the payment framework were identified as containing anomalies and were subsequently flagged pending further verification. The Authority stressed that the system-driven action was introduced to curb the persistent issue of “ghost names” on the payroll and to ensure that public funds are disbursed only to legitimate and verified personnel.

Management further disclosed that the extended verification process became necessary after the detection of fake documentation submitted by some individuals. The Authority noted that the additional scrutiny is intended to protect the integrity of the national service scheme and guarantee fairness to all genuine personnel.
Resolution Process for Affected Personnel
The NSA has urged all flagged personnel who are yet to complete their documentation to submit the following for verification:
- School transcripts
- Student ID
- Proof of fee payments
- Admission letter
The Authority assured that all personnel with valid and verified documentation will be cleared by the close of the week, after which their payments will be processed without delay.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency and accountability, the NSA emphasized that it remains focused on delivering a seamless service experience while eliminating payroll irregularities.
The Authority reiterated that ongoing measures are designed to ensure that “ghost names” become a thing of the past and that only legitimate and validated personnel are recognized and duly compensated for their patriotic service to the nation.
