Ghana’s head coach has announced a 26-man squad for the Black Stars’ upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Comoros later this month. The squad, which features a mix of experienced players and emerging talents, will battle for crucial points in their quest to secure a spot at the next World Cup.
Goalkeepers:
Ghana’s goalkeeping department will be led by Lawrence Ati-Zigi (FC St. Gallen), with Joseph Wollacott (Crawley Town) and Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak) also named in the squad.
Defenders:
The defensive lineup includes Gideon Mensah (AJ Auxerre), Ebenezer Annan (Red Star Belgrade), Mohammed Salisu (AS Monaco), Jerome Opoku (Istanbul Basaksehir), Alexander Djiku (Fenerbahce), Jonas Adjetey (FC Basel), Razak Simpson (Nations FC), Kingsley Schindler (Samsunspor), and Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC).
Midfielders:
Arsenal’s Thomas Partey headlines the midfield selections alongside Elisha Owusu (AJ Auxerre), Abu Francis (Cercle Brugge), Kudus Mohammed (West Ham United), and Ernest Nuamah (Olympique Lyon).
Forwards:
The attacking lineup boasts Antoine Semenyo (AFC Bournemouth), Kamal Deen Sulemana (Southampton), Jordan Ayew (Leicester City), Jerry Afriyie (CD Lugo), Inaki Williams (Athletic Bilbao), and Christopher Bonsu Baah (Genk).
The Black Stars will face Chad on Friday, March 21, at the Accra Sports Stadium before traveling to play Comoros on Monday, March 24, at Stade Mimoun. Both matches will kick off at 7:00 PM local time.
