Winneba Masquerade Festival 2026 Celebrates Culture and Creativity

The 2026 Winneba Masquerade Festival, popularly known as “Fancy Dress,” was held yesterday, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Winneba and attracting visitors from across the country and beyond. The festival is renowned for its vibrant display of creativity, discipline, and tradition.

In a statement, Alexander Afenyo Markin, Member of Parliament for Effutu Constituency and Minority Leader in Parliament, extended his congratulations to all the participating masquerade groups for their outstanding performances.

Special recognition went to the Number 4 Red Cross Masquerading Group, who emerged as winners of the ultimate prize for their exceptional presentation.

Mr. Afenyo Markin praised all participants and organisers for making this year’s festival a resounding success, highlighting the event’s role in promoting Ghana’s cultural identity and fostering community spirit.

The Winneba Masquerade Festival continues to be a major cultural event on Ghana’s calendar, celebrating artistry, heritage, and the enduring traditions of the Effutu people.
