Central East police secure conviction in Kasoa Millennium City robbery case

The Central East Regional Police Command has successfully secured the conviction of a 25-year-old man, Kolie Samuel, in connection with a robbery incident that occurred on July 10, 2025, near Golden Pride Preparatory School at Millennium City in the Gomoa East District of the Central Region. The Central East Regional Police Command has successfully secured a conviction in a high-profile robbery case involving a 20-year-old suspect, Mohammed Bello. Tragedy struck in Kasoa on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025, when the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) retrieved the lifeless body of a schoolgirl from a pool of water in the area. The deceased, identified as Gloria Segoe, was said to have been in town to visit her boyfriend when the unfortunate incident occurred. According to official reports, the GNFS rescue operation began at exactly 10:02 PM and concluded at 10:42 PM. Rescue personnel were able to recover the body after a swift but delicate operation. Police arrest suspect for burglary and theft in Kasoa Nyanyano

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect in connection with a burglary and theft incident at Kasoa Nyanyano in the Central Region. Following a review of CCTV footages of the incident, the suspect, Ibrahim Abubakar Sadiq, was arrested on 16th June 2025 from his hideout at Agbogbloshie, a suburb of Accra wearing the same attire used during the operation. Preliminary investigations revealed that suspect Sadiq stole an iPhone 14 Pro Max, valued at GHC9,000, a Barclays ATM card, a UK driver’s license, and £2,000 cash. Upon interrogation, suspect Sadiq admitted to the offence and stated that he sold the iPhone 14 Pro Max to an unknown buyer at Agbogbloshie for GHC2,000. The suspect is currently in Police custody assisting investigations and will be put before court.

A High Court in Accra has once again denied a bail application filed on behalf of Benlord Ababio, aka Nana Barima Ababio, a self-acclaimed traditional ruler who shot and killed a soldier at Millennium City, Kasoa in the Central Region. This was after the prosecution was able to convince the court that the accused person is a very “aggressive individual” and a “very notorious land guard” who will not show up for the trial if granted bail.
