Tragedy struck in Kasoa on the night of Monday, June 23, 2025, when the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) retrieved the lifeless body of a schoolgirl from a pool of water in the area.
The deceased, identified as Gloria Segoe, was said to have been in town to visit her boyfriend when the unfortunate incident occurred. According to official reports, the GNFS rescue operation began at exactly 10:02 PM and concluded at 10:42 PM.
Rescue personnel were able to recover the body after a swift but delicate operation. The body was subsequently handed over to the Ghana Police Service, who have since launched an investigation to ascertain the exact circumstances leading to Gloria’s untimely death.

Residents in the area expressed shock and sorrow over the incident, calling for better safety measures around open water bodies in the community.
Authorities have urged the public to remain calm as investigations continue. Further updates are expected once the police conclude their preliminary inquiries.
