The Eastern Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Sibakon Down near Comet Estate on January 18, 2026.
According to police reports, personnel from the Regional Police Intelligence Directorate tracked and arrested a key suspect, Kwabla Egblorgbe Gadoglo Mohammed, also known as Moha, aged 31, at his hideout in Afienya on February 13, 2026.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Mohammed and an accomplice, now deceased, hired the services of an okada rider, Muntari Zakari, from Kwabenya to Sibakon Hospital. The suspects reportedly attacked the rider, robbing him of his iPhone 13 Pro and his unregistered Royal motorbike. The victim raised an alarm, leading to the mob lynching of one suspect while the other escaped with the phone.

A subsequent search at Mohammed’s residence in Abokobi resulted in the retrieval of several items, including cutters, scissors, hammers, a hacksaw, a cutlass, a jack knife, a saw, and three mobile phones believed to be linked to criminal activities.
Further investigations led to the arrest of another suspect, Kwame Accolor, alias Small Kidi, aged 37, at Anyako in the Volta Region. Police say he allegedly purchased the stolen iPhone 13 Pro for GH¢800.
Authorities say efforts are ongoing to retrieve the locally manufactured pistol reportedly used in the robbery. Both accused persons have been arraigned before court. Mohammed, who pleaded guilty to robbery, is expected to return to court on March 10, 2026, for sentencing.
The Police Command in the Eastern Region has reiterated its commitment to intelligence-led operations aimed at enhancing public safety and tackling robbery-related crimes across the region.
