Volta Health Network brings free specialist care to Weta Hospital

Volta Health Network (VHN), a non‑profit coalition of health professionals from the Volta Region, has taken its annual medical outreach to the Ketu North Municipal Hospital in Weta, offering three days of free specialist services to residents. The outreach, which began on Friday, July 11, provides screening, consultations and surgery for eye disorders, cardiac conditions, hernias, fibroids, cancers, and other chronic ailments. Tema Mpox patient fully recovered, discharged – Health Directorate

The Tema Metropolitan Health Directorate has revealed that the metropolis' one confirmed Mpox (formerly known as Monkey Pox case has fully recovered and been discharged from isolation.  Dr Sally Quartey, Tema Metro Director of Health Services, disclosed this to the GNA in an interview.  Dr Quartey noted that Tema confirmed a case of MPOX on June 21, 2025, adding that the patient was subsequently isolated according to protocols after discharge from the hospital.  She added that the patient has “fully recovered and been discharged from isolation”.  The directorate noted that contacts listed at the health facility visited by the patient, as well as the place of work and residence, were followed up from the last day of contact with the case.  “They have all b...

The Ministry of Health has created a Donation Desk to facilitate efforts by philanthropists and corporate entities that desired to bring medical equipment and materials outside of Ghana. Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, has urged Ghanaians not to panic as there is robust surveillance system in place to contain the COVID-19 outbreak on the campus of the University of Ghana (UG). He said there were 316 suspected cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 and 107 confirmed cases at the campus of the University, but there was no death or hospital admissions so far. Almost 300 million people worldwide abused substances in 2022 – NACOC
