Three candidates to contest Council of State election in Western North Region  

Three candidates have successfully filed their nomination forms to contest the upcoming Council of State election in the Western North Region. 

The candidates are Mr Nelson Ackah, 46-year-old President for the Ghana National Association of Assembly Members, Mr Michael Aidoo, 66-year-old Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, and Col (Rtd) Anthony Aduhene 68-year- old a retired military officer. 

Mr Francis Addai-Boateng, Acting Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said preparations were far advanced to ensure a successful election. 

He asked candidates to conduct their campaigns according to the rules and regulations governing the election. 

The election would be held on February 11, in all the 16 regions across the country.
