Pimampim Kagbrese V elected member of Council of State for Bono East Region     

The Paramount Chief of the Yeji Traditional Area, Pimampim Yaw Kagbrese V, 73-years-old, has been elected to represent the Bono East Region on the Council of State.  He secured 11 votes out of the 22 valid votes cast in an election conducted and supervised by the Electoral Commission in Techiman, the Bono East Regional capital on Tuesday, February 11, 2025.  Nana Opoku Fosu Gyeabour, a-65-year-old engineer, also had seven votes, with Pastor Michael Kwasi Amponsah, 40 years, obtaining four votes.  In all 11 people contested the elections in the region.  In his acceptance speech, Pimampim Kagbrese V, also a former President of the then Brong-Ahafo Regional House of Chiefs, expressed appreciation to the people of the region for the confidence reposed in him.  ...

Three candidates to contest Council of State election in Western North Region  

Three candidates have successfully filed their nomination forms to contest the upcoming Council of State election in the Western North Region.  The candidates are Mr Nelson Ackah, 46-year-old President for the Ghana National Association of Assembly Members, Mr Michael Aidoo, 66-year-old Western North Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, and Col (Rtd) Anthony Aduhene 68-year- old a retired military officer.  Mr Francis Addai-Boateng, Acting Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said preparations were far advanced to ensure a successful election.  He asked candidates to conduct their campaigns according to the rules and regulations governing the election.  The election would be held on February ...
