NPP Mourns the Passing of Former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Ghana’s former First Lady, Her Excellency Mrs. Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, who passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
In a statement signed by the NPP’s General Secretary, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, the party described Mrs. Agyeman Rawlings as “an epitome of the strength and resilience of Ghanaian women, particularly in political leadership and socio-economic empowerment.”
The statement highlighted her significant contributions to Ghana’s development, particularly through her pioneering work as Founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement. Her efforts, the party noted, greatly influenced national policies and laws that advanced the rights of women and children across the country.
