Ho West DCE hands over six-unit classroom block project at Tsito

The Ho West District Assembly has handed over a six-unit classroom block project to a contractor for construction at Tsito Methodist Basic School to enhance educational infrastructure in the district. The GH¢1.7 million project, to be executed by FRADOFIL Construction Limited within six months, will provide six classrooms with auxiliary facilities to ease congestion and improve teaching and learning. At the handing-over ceremony, Mr. Francis Profer Dusey, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ho West, said the project formed part of government’s broader agenda to expand access to quality education. The Anlo Dukor Council, in collaboration with the Ghana Exim Bank, has officially launched activities for the 2025 edition of the historic Hogbetsotso Festival, one of Ghana’s most celebrated cultural events. Volta Police secure 19 year jail term for armed robber in Ho

The Volta Regional Police Command has secured a major legal victory with the successful conviction and sentencing of a notorious armed robber, Paul Avortide, popularly known as “Tinted.” The 25-year-old was handed a 19-year sentence with hard labour by the Ho Circuit Court on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. According to police reports, the incident occurred on May 21, 2025, at around 4:00 a.m. at Tsikpota near New Housing, Ho. The convict, wielding a machete, attacked a pregnant woman identified as Ogechi Chidiebere, a Nigerian national residing in Ho, while she was en route to the Ho Municipal Hospital for antenatal care. GWCL restores water supplies to Ho and its environs  

The Volta Regional Directorate of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), has successfully restored water supply to Ho and its environs, bringing the much-needed relief after more than a month of water shortages.    The water began flowing from household taps in parts of Ho, early on Sunday, February 9, 2025, following extensive repairs on the faulty pump at the Kpeve Headworks.   During the outage, many residents struggled to secure water.    Mr Ebenezer Wornyo, a resident of Lokoe, told the Ghana News Agency that he woke up early, filled all his storage containers, and prayed that the pump would remain unharmed.    Similarly, Mr Hope Demanya, expressed his relief, explaining that he had arranged for borehole water on the previous Saturd...

Former Ho MCE threatens legal action over false claims on Assembly project
