The suspects, Machiavelli Arthur and Gideon Ebenezer—both phone repairers operating in the area—were picked up on June 19, 2025, following an intelligence-led operation by the Police. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects had been using laptops and other electronic tools to unlock, bypass, and flash mobile phones sold on credit. Their actions enabled customers who defaulted on payment to continue using the devices without settling their debts.
