Police Update: Four Arrested in Asiyaw shooting incident

The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects in connection with the fatal shooting incident that claimed five lives at Asiyaw, near Akwane-Dobro in the Eastern Region.

The suspects — Samuel Atsu Forson alias Alanyo, Freeheart Kweku Sedonu, Kwesi Prince, and Benjamin Adzalekor — were apprehended from various hideouts following police investigations.

The shooting, which occurred on 29th April 2025, stemmed from a violent confrontation between two groups over sand winning activities in the area.

All four suspects were arraigned before the Osino District Court on 2nd May 2025. Three of the suspects — Forson, Sedonu, and Prince — were remanded into prison custody, while Adzalekor was remanded into police custody.

The case has been adjourned to 8th May 2025, when the suspects are expected to reappear in court.

The Police Command has assured the public that justice will be pursued diligently, and all suspects will be taken through the due process of the law.
