President Mahama Recalls Ghana’s High Commissioner to Nigeria Over Primary Election Allegations
President John Dramani Mahama has directed the immediate recall of Ghana’s High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mohammed Baba Jamal Ahmed, popularly known as Baba Jamal, following allegations of voter inducement during the National Democratic Congress (NDC) primaries in the Ayawaso East Constituency.
Mr Baba Jamal, who participated in the primaries as a candidate, is alleged to have been involved in vote-buying activities during the internal party election. Although similar allegations were reportedly made against several candidates, the Presidency noted that he was the only serving public officer among those implicated.
