Two Members of Believers Worship Center Killed, 21 Injured in New Year Highway Crash

At least two people lost their lives and 21 others sustained injuries on the night of January 1, 2025, following a serious road traffic accident involving a bus transporting church members along the Assin Fosu–Kumasi highway in the Central Region. Preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. at Assin Dansame as the bus was returning from a 31st Night crossover service held in Kumasi. ECG Clarifies Disconnection of Believers Worship Centre Over GH¢308,741.16 Debt

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has explained the circumstances surrounding the recent disconnection of power supply to the Believers Worship Centre, led by Prophet Stephen Adom Kyei-Duah. According to ECG, the church’s electricity supply was cut off on August 26, 2025, due to an accumulated outstanding bill of GH¢308,741.16. The company stressed that the action formed part of its standard operational procedures and was not intended to single out or inconvenience the church. Following the disconnection, ECG’s Regional General Manager met with the church leadership to address their grievances.
