At least two people lost their lives and 21 others sustained injuries on the night of January 1, 2025, following a serious road traffic accident involving a bus transporting church members along the Assin Fosu–Kumasi highway in the Central Region. Preliminary reports indicate that the crash occurred around 9:00 p.m. at Assin Dansame as the bus was returning from a 31st Night crossover service held in Kumasi. The vehicle was conveying members of the Believers Worship Centre—also known as Second Chance Church—back to Assin Fosu and Breman Asikuma. The bus, which bore Methodist Wesley Church signage, is said to have run into a group of people participating in a street parade, resulting in multiple casualties.
