Police Arrest Four, Seize Drugs and Gaming Machines in Paga Operation

The Upper East Regional Police Command has arrested four suspects and seized drugs and illegal gaming machines following a targeted security operation in Paga, near the Ghana–Burkina Faso border.

The swoop, conducted on 18 December 2025, focused on known criminal hideouts and locations suspected to be involved in drug peddling. The suspects arrested were identified as Kofi Boateng, Eric Owusu, and Godwin Agosa, all porters, and Abdul Aziz Bukari, a driver’s mate.

During the operation, police retrieved several exhibits, including eight jackpot gaming machines, thirteen rolls of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, three mobile phones, three scissors, three lighters, one power bank, one empty phone case, and GH¢25.00 in cash.

The suspects are currently in police custody assisting with investigations. The Police Command has indicated that those found culpable will be arraigned before court to face the full rigours of the law.

The Upper East Regional Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining intelligence-led operations to curb crime, drug trafficking, and other illegal activities in border communities and across the region.
