The Volta Regional Police Command has made another breakthrough in the ongoing investigation into the robbery and murder of mobile money vendor Christopher Ahordor, which occurred in Aflao on April 28, 2025. On May 18, police arrested 65-year-old Happy Sewordor, believed to be the father of one of the prime suspects, Micheal Sewornu.
Authorities say Happy Sewordor was apprehended after a search of his residence revealed a cache of weapons and drugs. Items retrieved included four single-barrel cap guns, a locally made pistol, fourteen AAA and one BB empty cartridges, dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, and other substances suspected to be Tramadol. Investigations suggest that the items were collected from a house in Aflao allegedly owned by his son, Micheal Sewornu, who had been previously arrested and remanded into prison custody.
Happy Sewordor was arraigned before the court on May 21, 2025, and was also remanded into custody to assist with ongoing investigations. He is scheduled to reappear in court on June 16, 2025.

In a related development, on May 12, the Police Anti-Armed Robbery Unit at the CID Headquarters in Accra arrested three more suspects: Hadi Sulley (22), Ewe Abraham alias Wale (25), and Eric Dordzinu (25), for their suspected involvement in the same case. These individuals were transferred to the Volta Regional Police Command and were arraigned in court on May 19, 2025. They too were remanded into prison custody and will reappear on June 16, 2025.
Additional suspects — Korku Agboada, Utsuku Onyeso, and Micheal Sewornu — were also arraigned on May 14, 2025, and remanded to aid further investigations. Another suspect, Atsu Agbagla, was granted police enquiry bail.
The Volta Regional Police Command expressed appreciation to the public for their continued support in combating crime and assured citizens of its commitment to maintaining safety and security across the region.
