John Dramani Mahama has commenced his one-day official visit to Paris with a high-level meeting with Gérard Larcher, President of the French Senate.
The Ghanaian leader was accorded a formal military welcome ahead of the bilateral discussions, underscoring the significance of the visit and the strong diplomatic ties between Ghana and France.
Talks between the two leaders focused on deepening cooperation in critical areas such as trade and investment, regional security, and counter-terrorism efforts. The discussions also highlighted France’s continued support for Ghana in key sectors, including maternal health and agriculture.

President Mahama used the opportunity to showcase the notable progress of Ghana’s economy under his leadership, emphasizing policies aimed at stabilizing and growing the economy while creating opportunities for citizens.
The meeting marks an important step in strengthening Ghana-France relations, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to enhanced collaboration for mutual benefit and regional stability.
