The Manhyia Palace has announced the appointment of a new Board of Directors for Kumasi Asante Kotoko Sporting Club .
The appointments were made by His Majesty Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, who named Mr. James Osei Brown as Chairman of the Board. Mr. Osei Brown is the Chief Executive Officer of Joshob Construction.
Mr. Kwasi Osei Ofori, Chief Executive Officer of Rocksure, has been appointed as Vice-Chairman of the Board. Also named to the Board is Mr. Kofi Amoa-Abban, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rigworld Group.

According to the statement issued from Manhyia, the newly constituted Board is expected to immediately assume its statutory oversight responsibilities. However, the club’s Interim Management Committee (IMC) will continue to handle day-to-day management duties until the end of the 2025/2026 Ghana Premier League season to ensure stability and continuity.
The Chief of Staff at Manhyia, Mr. Kofi Badu, presided over a meeting during which the new Board was formally introduced to the Interim Management Committee. He called for cooperation between the two bodies to guarantee a smooth and effective transition process.
In his remarks, Board Chairman Mr. James Osei Brown assured stakeholders of the Board’s commitment to restoring and elevating Asante Kotoko to the level befitting its rich history and stature in Ghanaian and African football. He urged the management team to intensify their efforts in the remaining weeks of the season.
Chairman of the IMC, Nana Akwasi Awuah Apinkrah, welcomed the newly appointed Board and pledged the full support of the management team throughout the transition period.
The restructuring is expected to strengthen governance and strategic direction at the club as it prepares for the future.
