Kade District Court Remands Five Students Over Assault on Teacher

The Kade District Court has remanded five students of Kade Senior High/Technical School following their alleged involvement in the assault of a teacher at the school.

According to court proceedings, four of the students, who are adults, have been remanded into prison custody, while one juvenile suspect has been placed in police custody. The court took the decision to allow further investigations into the incident, which has sparked public concern about safety and discipline in schools.

The case has been adjourned to 20 January, when the students are expected to reappear before the court for further hearings.

The incident, which occurred on the school’s premises, has drawn widespread condemnation from education stakeholders and members of the public, with many calling for stricter enforcement of school discipline and stronger protection for teachers.

Authorities have assured the public that the matter is being handled in accordance with the law, while the Ghana Education Service is also expected to follow up with its own administrative processes.
