Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club has issued a strong official statement addressing recent publications and public commentary concerning the contractual status of their player, Hamza Issah.
In the statement released by the club, Hearts of Oak firmly affirmed that Hamza Issah remains under a valid and legally binding employment contract. The club emphasized that, as of the date of the statement, no competent judicial, regulatory, or arbitral body — including the Ghana Football Association Player Status Committee or FIFA — has ruled or confirmed that the contract has been lawfully terminated.
No “Just Cause” for Termination

The club dismissed circulating speculation suggesting contractual breaches, stating that it has not persistently or materially defaulted on its financial obligations in a manner that would constitute “just cause” for unilateral termination under FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.
According to management, following correspondence from the player’s representatives, the club held two separate meetings with Issah and acted in good faith to resolve all outstanding concerns.
Condemnation of Confidential Leak
Hearts of Oak also strongly condemned what it described as the unauthorized disclosure and public circulation of confidential correspondence by the player’s representatives. The club labeled the act as unprofessional and misleading, arguing that it undermines established ethical and regulatory standards governing football administration.
Allegations Against
The Phobians further expressed alarm over the conduct of Siwele Football Club of South Africa. According to the statement, the South African side allegedly engaged the player, issued an invitation, and facilitated travel arrangements without notifying or obtaining consent from Hearts of Oak, despite the existence of an active contract.
The club described the move as player inducement and unlawful interference with a subsisting contractual relationship, actions it says violate FIFA regulations.
Formal Complaints Filed
As a result, Hearts of Oak confirmed that formal complaints have been lodged against ProSports International and Siwele Football Club with FIFA and other relevant authorities. The club stated it is actively pursuing all available legal and regulatory remedies to protect contractual integrity and stability within football.
Commitment to Professionalism
Management reiterated the club’s commitment to professionalism, transparency, regulatory compliance, and the protection of contractual stability in the sport.
Hearts of Oak urged supporters, stakeholders, and the general public to rely solely on information disseminated through the club’s official communication channels.
The statement was officially issued by the Management of Accra Hearts of Oak Sporting Club.
