Fredrick Asare pens emotional farewell to Asante Kotoko after three seasons

Former Asante Kotoko goalkeeper Fredrick Asare has penned a heartfelt message to bid farewell to the club, its leadership, teammates, and supporters following the end of his three-year stay with the Porcupine Warriors.

In a touching statement shared shortly after the club confirmed his departure, Fredrick Asare expressed deep gratitude to His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club’s management, players, and the passionate fanbase that has supported him throughout his journey.

“From the depth of my heart, I say a very big THANK YOU to His Royal Majesty, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the management, teammates, and of course, the amazing supporters of this GREAT CLUB,” Asare wrote.

He reflected on his personal growth during his time with the club, noting how he arrived in Kumasi as a young talent and leaves as a matured footballer shaped by the Kotoko spirit.

“I came here as a young boy, but after 3 wonderful years, this club has transformed me into a warrior,” he said.

Asare also highlighted what he described as an unforgettable moment in his career captaining the team to victory in the 2024/25 FA Cup. “The honour of wearing the armband of this great club and leading the team to lift this year’s FA Cup is a memory that will live with me forever.”

Despite his exit, the goalkeeper made it clear that he will always remain part of the Kotoko family. “I will FOREVER remain one of you, and the great memories we have shared will be with me forever. I wish the club the very best for the next season and the many seasons to come. This isn’t a goodbye.”

He ended his message with a passionate shoutout to the club’s famous motto: “FAAABULOUS; the greatest.”

Fredrick Asare’s emotional farewell underscores the bond he developed with the Kumasi-based giants and leaves behind a legacy of resilience, leadership, and memorable performances.
