Renowned businessman and politician Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom has called for a major restructuring of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), citing financial mismanagement and neglect of key stakeholders in the sport.
In a strongly worded social media post, Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom accused top officials of benefiting from FIFA funds while leaving clubs, referees, and players struggling. He questioned how long such issues would persist, warning that inaction could lead to more deaths, financial crises within clubs, and continued poor performances by the national team, the Black Stars.
His remarks come in the wake of heightened concerns about the state of Ghanaian football, particularly following recent incidents of violence at league matches and growing dissatisfaction with the national team’s performances.
Dr. Nduom’s comments have sparked debate among football fans and stakeholders, with many echoing his call for reforms to improve governance and accountability in Ghanaian football. The GFA has yet to respond to his concerns.
