‘GFA Does Not Handle Black Stars Cash’

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) until recently was perceived to be the handlers of monies meant for tournaments for the Black Stars. But a Media For Ghana Football, a pressure group, has issued a statement to correct the erroneous impressions. To the group, it is rather the Youth and Sports Ministry that takes care of such arrangements. Ahead of tournaments or qualifying games, the country’s football governing body, GFA prepares detailed budget and submits it along with a covering letter to the Ministry of Sports. GFA issues warning to Real Tamale United ahead of Matchday 19 fixture

The Ghana Football Association has taken notice of unfortunate incidents of threat and attempted physical assault that happened before the Match Coordinating Meeting ahead of the match between Real Tamale United and Bofoakwa Tano FC at Berekum by the home team. The GFA wishes to send a strong warning to all stakeholders, especially Real Tamale United FC, who are serving a suspension from its original venue that violence and misconduct at match venues are not acceptable by the Association. The Director of the GFA Foundation Malcolm Frazier Appeadu has paid a visit to ailing former Black Satellites and Black Meteors goalkeeper, William Essu. The visit was to see how the player is faring and also to wish him speedy recovery. Welcoming the Director of the Foundation to his base in Cape Coast, Essu narrated how the ailment started, missing out on the Black Meteors AFCON squad and the difficult period he had gone through for the past 5 months. Mr. George Afriyie has filed an appeal against the decision of the Election’s Committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to disqualify him from the upcoming elections as a result of breach of conduct.  The committee after reviewing the vetting process of the former GFA Vice President said he could not meet the criteria, hence the need for him to be disqualified.  In response to the decision, Mr. George Afriyie requested for an unedited video of the vetting process of which his request was declined in accordance with the rules and regulations of FIFA and the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
