Two Suspects Arrested for Robbing Businessman in Ashaiman

The Tema Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the robbery of a businessman at Ashaiman in the Greater Accra Region on February 26, 2025. One of the suspects, Karim Fatao, was arrested on the same day of the incident, while the second suspect, Wonder Babanawo, who had been on the police wanted list for multiple robberies in Ashaiman and parts of Tema, was apprehended on March 29, 2025. A search conducted on the suspects led to the retrieval of a Ruger pistol loaded with fifteen rounds of ammunition, thirty mobile phone covers, six SIM cards, a quantity of dried plant material suspected to be Indian hemp, one Samsung tablet, and three copies of land indenture. Family appeals to government to help locate relative missing around Tunisia and Italy

Three Arrested in Connection with Robbery and Murder of Mobile Money Vendors in Ashanti Region

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has apprehended three individuals suspected of being involved in the brutal robbery and murder of two mobile money vendors in the Ashanti Region. According to the police, the first incident occurred on Thursday, 13th February 2025, in Krofrom around noon, where the victim, Patricia Nimako, was attacked and fatally shot. Her assailants also made away with an undisclosed amount of money. A second attack took place on the night of Monday, 10th March 2025, in Kwadaso. Plumber jailed 12 years for sextortion

An Accra Circuit Court has sentenced a 26-year-old plumber and hairstylist to 12 years' imprisonment for sexual extortion. Philip Spain Narh is said to have taken advantage of a 19-year-old SHS graduate by having vaginal and anal sex with her with the promise to help her become a web designer. Unknown to the victim, Narh recorded his sexual encounter with her and published those nude scenes on the internet with the view of blackmailing her. He was charged with seven counts of sexual extortion, non-consensual sharing of intimate images, publication or sale of obscene material and unlawful possession of narcotic drugs. Businessman in court for allegedly defrauding 18 rent seekers GHC100,000 

A 48-year-old businessman, Jennings Tetteh Cole, who is accused of defrauding 18 rent seekers of over GHC100,000, appeared before an Accra Circuit Court on Wednesday.  He faces 18 counts of defrauding by false pretenses but has pleaded not guilty to the charges.   The complainants reportedly paid amounts ranging from GHC3,000 to GHC9,200 to the accused.  Jennings has been granted bail in the amount of GHC150,000.   He had promised to refund the money to his victims, but according to the prosecution, led by Chief Inspector Ramata Asumah, he has not returned any of the funds.  The case has been adjourned to January 20, 2025, with the court, presided over by Mr. Bright Samuel Acquah, instructing the prosecution to file their disclosures.  C...

Tiler jailed for defiling, impregnating 12-year-old girl

Washing bay attendant remanded over military uniforms, false pretense 

By A washing bay attendant who posted a video of himself on TikTok wearing military camouflage trousers and vest portraying to be a military officer has been remanded by an Accra Circuit Court.  Alex Cobbina, 20, charged with falsely pretending to be a public officer and possession of a military uniform, naval Inner vest, military camouflage nose mask and along boot without permit, pleaded guilty.  Cobbina told the court to forgive him because he did not know his action breached the laws of Ghana.  According to Cobbina, he was the bread winner of the family, adding incarcerating him would bring untold hardship to his family.  The court presided over by Mr. Samuel Bright Acquah convicted Cobbina on his own plea but deferred his sentence to January 9, 2025  ...
