53 Outstanding Students Honored at President’s Independence Day Awards

The annual President’s Independence Day Awards ceremony took place today, recognizing 53 exceptional students from across the country, including those with special needs.

The prestigious event, held in Accra, was attended by several distinguished guests, including the Minister for Education, members of the Council of State, traditional rulers, and representatives from Nestlé. Representing His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, a key speaker extended congratulations to the awardees and emphasized the importance of nurturing young scholars.

In an address to the students, he urged them to stay dedicated to their academic pursuits while appreciating the critical roles played by the government, teachers, parents, and mentors in their success. He also encouraged them to uplift others as they advance in their careers.

The event featured presentations by the award-winning students, showcasing their deep understanding of national issues. They not only highlighted the need for quality education, healthcare, and protection but also acknowledged their own responsibilities in contributing to Ghana’s development.

This year’s ceremony reaffirmed the country’s commitment to investing in education and empowering the next generation of leaders.
