The Ghana Police Service has arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the alleged murder of his father at Likpe Abrani in the Oti Region.
According to a press release issued by the Oti Regional Police Command on December 30, 2025, the suspect, Innocent Owusu, was arrested following intelligence-led operations by the Jasikan District Police.
Police said the incident occurred on December 30, 2025, at the family’s residence in Likpe Abrani, where the suspect’s father, Peter Owusu, aged 59, was found dead.

After the alleged act, the suspect reportedly fled the community but was later traced and arrested at a hideout in a nearby forest at Abrani.
The remains of the deceased were retrieved by the police and deposited at the Hohoe Government Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy to aid investigations.
Innocent Owusu is currently in police custody assisting with investigations, and he is expected to be processed for court in accordance with the law.
The Oti Regional Police Command commended the residents of Likpe Abrani for their swift cooperation and assistance, which led to the arrest of the suspect. The Command also extended its condolences to the bereaved family during this difficult time.
