Vice President Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has underscored the importance of moral responsibility, ethical leadership, and integrity in national life, calling on both citizens and leaders to uphold justice and righteousness in line with Islamic teachings.
Delivering a speech at a summit held under the theme “Moral Decadence and Our Responsibilities in the Light of Islamic Teachings,” the Vice President reflected on the growing need for moral courage in governance and society. She noted that lessons from the Holy Quran consistently remind believers that ethical leadership and the courage to oppose injustice are essential for building a strong and resilient nation.
In this context, Vice President Opoku-Agyemang reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to accountability and transparency. She highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen coordination among key anti-corruption agencies and enforce a robust Code of Conduct for public officials, stressing that good governance must be grounded in moral values.

The Vice President also commended the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for its practical contributions to national development, particularly in the area of agriculture. She noted that the Pomadze Poultry Initiative is making steady progress and aligns with Government programmes such as Feed Ghana and Nkoko Nkitinkiti, which aim to boost domestic poultry production, create jobs, stabilize prices, and enhance food security.
Beyond agriculture, she acknowledged the Community’s substantial investments in education, healthcare, and humanitarian services across the country. She gave special recognition to the Lajna Imaillah, the women’s wing of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, for its critical role in advancing social welfare and service to humanity.
Vice President Opoku-Agyemang further outlined key areas of progress under the current administration, including economic stabilisation, reforms in education and healthcare, skills development for the youth, and renewed focus on infrastructure development, good governance, and social equity.
She concluded by expressing gratitude to the people of Ghana for the confidence reposed in His Excellency’s administration and the opportunity to serve. As the nation enters the new year, she called on all Ghanaians to remain committed to faith, unity, and selfless service to the country.
