TOR Management Procures New Fleet to Boost Operational Efficiency

Management of the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR) has officially procured and handed over a fleet of vehicles to significantly strengthen the refinery’s operational efficiency and logistics capacity.

The newly acquired fleet includes eight brand new Mitsubishi vehicles, three Toyota Coaster buses, two industrial forklifts, along with other essential operational vehicles intended to support the refinery’s day-to-day activities across various departments.

The intervention comes at a critical time, as TOR has grappled with serious logistical challenges for several years. According to management, the last time the refinery received such substantial logistical support was in 2013, and the prolonged absence of adequate transport and operational equipment negatively affected productivity and slowed progress.

The fleet was formally commissioned by the Board Chairman, Hon. Nayon Bilijo, who authorized its immediate deployment for official and operational use. Management disclosed that the vehicles were procured entirely with the refinery’s Internally Generated Funds (IGF), generated in 2025 under the new management, similar to other recent works undertaken by the company.

Management expressed deep appreciation to the President of the Republic, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, and the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Jinapor, for their continuous support, strategic direction, and commitment to the refinery’s revitalization agenda. They acknowledged the leadership and guidance provided, which management says has been instrumental in driving sustainable success at TOR.

The refinery’s leadership also extended heartfelt gratitude to the entire workforce for their resilience, dedication, and unwavering support throughout the period of transition and reform.

Management believes the new logistical assets will greatly enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and contribute positively to the broader goal of restoring the Tema Oil Refinery to full operational strength.
