The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has officially approved the fees and charges to be levied by the University of Ghana for the 2025/2026 academic year, bringing clarity to students, parents, and university management. GTEC Orders University of Ghana to Reverse Fee Increases for 2025/2026 Academic Year

The Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC) has directed the University of Ghana to immediately reverse all fee increases implemented for the 2025/2026 academic year, citing a clear violation of an earlier directive. In a letter referencing an earlier correspondence dated November 3, 2025 (Ref. No. HA 42/1/01), GTEC reminded the University that all publicly funded tertiary institutions were expressly instructed not to increase fees for the 2025/2026 academic year. Don’t panic over COVID-19 outbreak at University of Ghana campus-Health Minister

Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, the Minister of Health, has urged Ghanaians not to panic as there is robust surveillance system in place to contain the COVID-19 outbreak on the campus of the University of Ghana (UG). He said there were 316 suspected cases of the Omicron variant of COVID-19 and 107 confirmed cases at the campus of the University, but there was no death or hospital admissions so far. Haruna Orders 25% Cut In UG Residential Fees

Haruna Iddrisu The minister of Education, Haruna Iddrisu, has urged the University of Ghana (UG), to reduce accommodation costs by 25% for both fresh and continuing students. University of Ghana opens maiden “Artify” visual arts exhibition 

The University of Ghana, in partnership with Nubuke Foundation and KGL Foundation, has launched a weeklong visual arts exhibition titled "Artify" on the University’s campus.  Running from November 26 to December 2, the event showcases drawings and paintings by eight visual artists selected by the University.  The artists participated in a two-week skills and business orientation training before the exhibition, where they were coached on art practice fundamentals, copyright and intellectual property, entrepreneurship, and business management.  The training aimed to help the artists upscale their craft and expand their client reach, equipping them to become more business-oriented art professionals.
