Water Minister assures Ya-Na of permanently resolving Yendi, Tamale water crisis 

Mr Kenneth Gilbert Adjei, Minister for Works, Housing and Water Resources has assured Ya-Na Abukari II, Overlord of Dagbon, of government’s commitment to resolving the perennial water crisis affecting the Northern Region especially Tamale and Yendi.  Speaking during a courtesy call on the Ya-Na at the Gbewaa Palace at Yendi on Wednesday, Mr Adjei reiterated President John Dramani Mahama's pledge to end the water crisis before the end of his tenure.  He said strategic deliberations were underway to permanently resolve the crisis and enhance socio-economic development in the affected areas.   He said technical teams from the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) were currently working to replace outdated and malfunctioning equipment to provide temporary relief to residen...

POLICE ARREST SUSPECT FOR STEALING EPA VEHICLE IN TARKWA

The Western Central Regional Police Command has arrested a suspect in connection with the theft of a Toyota Land Cruiser belonging to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The vehicle, with registration number GS 1845-23, was reported stolen in the early hours of April 15, 2025, from the residence of an EPA employee at Budo City, a suburb of Tarkwa in the Western Region. The suspect, identified as Salifu Gariba, was apprehended by officers from the Northern Regional Police Command on April 16, 2025, at Kukobila, located along the Tamale-Bolgatanga highway.
