Update on murder of Police Officer at Zebilla: One more suspect arrested

The Ghana Police Service has arrested another suspect in connection with the murder of a police officer at Zebilla in the Upper East Region. The suspect, Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse, was arrested on 17 February 2026 during a joint intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga. According to police sources, three mobile phones were retrieved from the suspect. The devices are currently being analysed as part of ongoing investigations into the case. Police further revealed that the suspect has reportedly appeared in videos displaying weapons believed to be linked to criminal activities in the area. One suspect arrested following petition over false Galamsey claims

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has arrested a suspect in connection with a petition calling for an inquiry into alleged false claims related to galamsey activities. The petition, submitted by Mr. Daniel Sasu Omari and two others on behalf of the Ashanti, Eastern, and Western Regional Ministers, requested a full investigation into the matter. Acting on the petition, the CID picked up the suspect, identified as Wendell Nana Yaw Yeboah, to assist with ongoing investigations. Suspect remanded over immigration officer’s murder

Bright Aweh has appeared before the Kaneshie District Court over the alleged murder of Ghana Immigration Service officer, Stephen King Amoah. Aweh, also known as Robert or Highest Bright, faces a provisional charge of murder. His plea was not taken, and he was remanded into police custody to reappear on August 8, 2025.
