Ghana Armed Forces Rescue 71 Stranded Fishermen After Sea Robbery Attack
The Ghana Armed Forces has successfully rescued 71 Ghanaian fishermen who were left stranded at sea following a robbery attack approximately 35 nautical miles off the coast of Gomoa Nyanyano and Senya Bereku in the Central Region.
According to a statement signed by Captain Veronica Adzo Arhin, Acting Director General of Public Relations for the Ghana Navy, the search and rescue operation began at dawn after reports emerged that armed robbers had attacked several fishing boats operating in the area.
The attackers reportedly seized outboard motors and personal belongings, leaving the fishermen helpless at sea. Affected vessels included Argentina 2, Argentina 3, Sea Lion, and Berema Nsukwa, among others.
