Police crack down on wanted robbery gang in Ashanti region; Three suspects arrested

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested three suspected members of a robbery gang believed to have been operating in parts of Obuasi in the Ashanti Region. According to police, the arrests were made on 15 February 2026 during an intelligence-led operation at Mangoase near Pokukrom. Officers conducted coordinated raids on several suspected hideouts linked to the group. The suspects — Aziz Abubakar, also known as Romeo, Faraway Amari, and Patient Asare — were apprehended during the operation. Police arrest five suspects for robbery at Nkaseim

The Ghana Police Service has arrested five suspects in connection with a robbery attack that took place in December, 2025 at Nkaseim in the Ahafo Region. On 2nd December 2025, the suspects, together with other accomplices armed with weapons, blocked the Goaso-Tepa road and simultaneously attacked the Nkaseim Police Station, Adwumapa Cocoa Buying Company, Kobby Gold Buying Company, and the Asutifi Rural Bank area at Nkaseim. The suspect, identified as Atampugri Akanyani, the driver of the vehicle, was arrested on 26th January 2026 when a police team on snap check duty intercepted a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter bus with registration number AC 718-25 at the Asanso checkpoint.
