The Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Presidential Election Committee, Mr. Joseph Osei Owusu, has commended the Ghana Police Service for its pivotal role in ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the party’s presidential primaries.
Mr. Osei Owusu, accompanied by members of the committee, paid a courtesy call on the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and members of the Police Management Board (POMAB) at the Police Headquarters, where he formally expressed the party’s appreciation.
He praised the Police for their comprehensive security arrangements and the professionalism exhibited by officers across the country before, during, and after the primaries. According to him, the visible police presence, effective coordination, and neutrality of personnel were key factors in maintaining calm and boosting public confidence throughout the electoral process.

In response, the IGP expressed gratitude to the committee for the visit and the recognition. He reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to its constitutional mandate of protecting lives and property, and to supporting democratic processes through disciplined, impartial, and professional policing.
