The win has left the Phobians to second position in the table with 28 points from 16 games while Cities remain at the bottom with 11 points in what has been a difficult campaign for the Royals. The match also saw Hearts of Oak reduced to 10 men after Emmanuel Amankwah received a red card in the 80th minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the team held firm to secure the win.

Legon Cities have officially announced the appointment of Yaw Acheampong as their new Head Coach. Acheampong takes over from Paa Kwesi Fabin, whose contract was terminated following a poor run of results.
