Legon Cities’ woes this season have been further compounded after they were beaten 1-0 in the capital derby against Accra Hearts of Oak on Friday January 3, 2025.
Ahmed Ramzy Yussif’s first half strike turned the game on its head and left the visitors with a pyramid to climb at the bottom of the Premier League table.
The win has left the Phobians to second position in the table with 28 points from 16 games while Cities remain at the bottom with 11 points in what has been a difficult campaign for the Royals.
The match also saw Hearts of Oak reduced to 10 men after Emmanuel Amankwah received a red card in the 80th minute. Despite the numerical disadvantage, the team held firm to secure the win.
