Known in private life as Barima Kwaku Duah, Otumfuo was born on May 6, 1950, at Ash Town, a popular community in Kumasi, the capital of Ashanti Region. A true royal of the Golden Stool of the Asante Kingdom, he is the last child of the five children of the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II. Suspect Arrested in Gruesome Murder Case at Abuakwa

The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested 34-year-old Robert Kwabena Boamah in connection with the brutal murder of a 23-year-old woman in Abuakwa. According to a press release from the Public Affairs Unit of the Ashanti Regional Police Headquarters, Boamah was apprehended on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, at his hideout in Namong, near Offinso. His arrest follows investigations into the murder of Dorothy Owusu Annor, also known as Maa Dabea, whose body was discovered on Monday, April 21 near the Mighty Jesus Educational Complex in the Tanoso Electoral area of the Kwadaso Municipality. I will find the missing sword to complete Suame-Tafo-Mampong dualisation project -Dr Amoakohene

Dr Frank Amoakohene, the Ashanti Regional Minister-designate, has pledged to collaborate with the sector ministry to source funding to complete the Suame-Tafo-Mampong dualisation project to ease traffic congestion and boost economic activities along the route. The previous government cut the sod for the construction of the 23km road but could not complete it before leaving office on January 7, 2025.
