Ghana Moves to Acquire and Preserve Nkrumah’s Former Residence in Guinea

The Government of Ghana has initiated negotiations with the family of Guinea’s first President, Ahmed Sékou Touré, to enable Ghana take possession of the house where Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah lived and worked during his final years as Co-President of Guinea. The move, undertaken on the instructions of President John Dramani Mahama, is aimed at renovating and preserving the historic residence as part of efforts to honour Nkrumah’s legacy and deepen Pan-African heritage tourism.
